The Tehran Design Competition was an international competition open to all individuals, design engineers, and architects, inviting them to submit a design for the skin or exterior facade of the Amiran Furniture Market commercial center, located in the Yaftabad district of Tehran, Iran.
The goal of this competition was to bring together creative ideas and identify solutions that combine cultural and technical aspects to achieve the best synthesis between the local regional structure and the city’s commercial context, thereby upgrading the buildings’ structures to possess a clear and distinct identity.
The spaces within the aforementioned complex are designated for commercial units, and instilling a contemporary sense in the design of these venues is vital. This competition intends to promote creative ideas that convey a sense of the modern world while respecting the principles of Iranian architecture and the environmental quality of commercial spaces in a developing metropolis like Tehran.
